After nearly 2 million viewers tuning in for the opening episode of the second season of Derry Girls, it's fair to say Lisa McGee's creation is going from strength to strength.
The Channel 4 hit comedy show may centre around the antics of Erin, Orla, Clare, Michelle and "the wee English fella" James but it's their merciless head mistress Sister Michael who is emerging as a new favourite character (well they're all class in fairness).
Here are her best bits from series one:
Cork native Siobhan McSweeney is the actor responsible for bringing the hilariously cynical nun to life, and after yet another killer performance in this year's opener, Twitter is crying out for a spin-off series:
Dear @Channel4
Can we please have the next (longer) series of #DerryGirls ASAP! And a spin off series about Sister Michael!
Thank you.
Sincerely,
EVERYONE.❤ pic.twitter.com/BTxgDVIX3B— Paul Dunphy Esquire (@pauldunphy) February 8, 2018

With this in mind, The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show wanted to find out if it's something Siobhan would be interested in?
After some initial dismissal, she starts to warm to the idea when Father Ted is mentioned. Well it is the same production company that was behind the Craggy Island crew. Just saying.
When asked about the part, Siobhan says, "I absolutely adore her" and also reveals how the second episode is "our homage to the Dead Poets Society".
We love Sister Michael - those eyerolls, incredible one-liners, her comic timing and the way she pretends not to care (we know she does deep down). Magic!
