Flag Taxis, Founder Richie Commins did everything he could to make it on last week's Sunday Business Show, unfortunately due to the snow and being stuck in a place for over five hours he couldn't make it.
This week however he got to the studio without any bother and was able to tell Conall all about Flag Taxis, his unique app.
Richie began developing the app when he was a final year Business Information Systems student at NUI Galway and has since graduated and combined his experience with engineers with taxi industry experience to further develop the app.
The app was just launched in December and allows passengers to travel and pay with no phone, card or cash, while ensuring the driver still gets paid.

What makes Flag unique is its wallet-less option, where users upload a photo and create a personal account and if they have insufficient funds or no card they simply gives the driver their name and enters a pin on the driver’s app.
The user’s photo then appears on the driver’s phone to confirm identity and the payment is taken from the user’s pre-registered card.
The business is currently focused on the Dublin market but is planning to roll out across the country later in 2018.
