We all have a way of beckoning our animals and it doesn't always just involve a name call or a swear word.
Accompanying the name is usually a noise of some sort, and with a cat it's a very specific one.
It's a kind of "wishy wishy pishy wish" type thing...or a series of puckering kisses.
Gerry McBride asked about this on Twitter recently and it BLEW UP.
So, the Muireann O 'Connell show invited him on to find out more about his obsession with cat calling!
Is it only Irish people that call their cats with Pish-Wish?
Is Pish-Wish just an Irish cat thing?

And it was while we were discussing the pish wish phenomenon cats were coming to the speakers at home!
It's not just #pishwish for cats or that "kikikikiki" thing we do for dogs. 😺🐶📢
Nancy in Mayo sent @MuireannO_C a video of her German Shepherd 'Murphy' who only responds to his little pig!!! 🐷😊 #MuireannInAction pic.twitter.com/3dnPqmZqbT
