It's been a very tough year for the hospitality industry, so when Mairead heard a good news story for a pub in Waterford she had to speak to one of its new owners, Stephen Flynn.
Maudie's Pub in Rathgormack, Co Waterford was up for sale and it was looking like the village would be losing their only pub which was also an important meeting point for everyone living there. That was until Stephen and 18 of his neighbours got together to save it.
They all put forward enough money to buy the pub and do it up, and the grand opening of The Village Pub will be on Friday 30th July.
