Today Mairead spoke to Laura Bonner in Donegal about her company, which has a very interesting name. Laura is CEO of an Irish Gin and Vodka business called Muff Liquor. Muff Liquor has raised a few eyebrows internationally from concerned parties who aren't aware that it's named after the village in Donegal, but she's always happy to let them know the reason behind the name.
Last week, Laura was speaking at the Donegal Women in Business Network. She was on stage speaking to a group of fellow entrepreneurs about how she started her premium Irish spirits company when she stood in front of the projector and her company logo ended up on, well, you can see for yourself:
Laura took this all in her stride saying, "if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?"
Muff Liquor will be expanding in to the global market next year, so we decided to help them out and suggest a few cocktail names. They already have Muff Flutters in honour of Maura Higgins, but what about Emuff is Emuff ? This Muff Be the Place? Get Muff Outta That? We could go on!
