Today Mairead was joined by honorary Irishman and the cheeky big brother of comedy, Des Bishop, and asked him - tell me something I don't know!
Des shared something we didn't know but are very glad we know now - back in 2000 he wrote a hip hop musical called Rap Éire. The musical is a hip hop history of Ireland/political satire of Fianna Fáil's Ireland at the peak of the Celtic Tiger. Not only that, but the music for Rap Éire was written by none other than Today FM's Dave Moore!
Des very generously shared something else we didn't know before - he was a child model signed with an agency in New York! Des and his brothers followed in their father's footsteps into the modelling world, and would head to Manhattan every day after school to work.
Mairead also asked Des about splitting his time between Dublin and New York, being an accidental landlord, and they chatted about his podcast about sex and dating -The Shift. And she didn't miss an opportunity to ask him when he'll finally settle down!
You can catch Des in Dublin this weekend, he'll be performing in Vicar Street on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th. Saturday is sold out but there are still tickets left for the Sunday available on ticketmaster.ie.
