As the big day creeps closer and closer, we're becoming more aware of those people in our lives who are so difficult to buy presents for. TK Maxx have worked with a group of behavioural scientists to look at the Science of Gifting, and Alison spoke to one of those scientists - Mike Hughes.
Mike said there are four types of people - the Curious Spirit, the Big Achiever, the Social Connector, and the Simplicity Seeker. Figuring out which category this person falls in to will help narrow down what gift would make them feel special:
- The Curious Spirit is happiest when they lose themselves in their passions and interests and will be planning new adventures for next year.
- The Big Achiever is someone goal oriented and will be making plans to kick-start their next project in 2021.
- The Social Connector is happiest when they're surrounded by loved ones, and will have missed the physical connections most this year.
- And last but not least, the Simplicity Seeker is happiest enjoying home comforts and the simple things in life and they like to focus on the things that matter most.
