It's almost time for the 2021 VHI Women's Mini Marathon, and one of the people taking part in this year's event is our own Shauna O'Reilly and she spoke to Mairead about the very personal reason she has signed up.
One of Shauna's oldest friends Louise sadly passed away this year after being diagnosed with cancer. They will be fundraising for Cancer Trials Ireland who worked with Louise from the beginning and gave her the most important thing - time.
The trials she was part of also meant that Louise was able to do normal things and have a good quality of life while she was fighting the cancer. Shauna wants to raise funds so Cancer Trials Ireland can give the same help and time to anyone else who needs it.
