Meet The Irish Artist Whose Way Of Coping With The Loss Of Her Dream Job Became A New Opportunity

Sometimes in life we can be on the cusp of something huge, but things don't always work out as planned. Someone who knows that feeling very well is Audrey Hamilton who joined Mairead on the show for a chat all about it!

Audrey was always interested in acting and a few years ago she decided it was time to move to LA to pursue her dream. After many, many auditions she landed an amazing opportunity to star in a Netflix series!

But on her first day on set in her very own trailer, Audrey was told that the production company was unable to work with someone on a work permit and just like that her dream ended.

To help her cope with the heartbreak, Audrey's husband Jack got her paints, brushes and canvases to encourage her to keep being creative - something she had always enjoyed. 4 years later, Audrey has turned lemons into lemonade and is an incredibly successful artist and couldn't be happier!

Where it all began, on our kitchen table in LA, with my first set of paint brushes, some rolled canvas and a Wooden plank from the garden as my first painting pallet. Paint all over the table, which hasn’t changed. But I now have my own studio I get to work from everyday, saving all of our home furniture from getting covered in paint! It’s the little things. Ps: This is still how I paint, I don’t use an easel, I prefer to paint flat, that’s just how I like to do it.
