In the middle of braving the weather in Limerick and hoping his house makes it back to shore, Karl Spain joined Mairead on the show for a cuppa tea and a chat.
While it's been a bit more difficult to find the funny this past year, Karl is mainly struggling not having people to tell his jokes to - he ended up giving something of an impromptu gig when he bumped into his cousin after the first lockdown.
When live gigs do come back with the performer and the audience in the same room, Karl thinks the audiences will be even better than before. He's predicting the enthusiasm and passion we last saw every time Ireland played in Italia '90.
In the meantime Karl is doing online gigs with the Róisín Dubh with a bit of a twist. You can watch at home with an observer ticket, or join the virtual front row with a VIP ticket. This interaction means heckling, dogs barking and the occasional crying baby!
But this is us, using the very best technology available to bring you a high quality night of laughs.
Just watch at home (Observer ticket) or join our virtual front row with a VIP ticket - the choice is yours, but hurry, limited number of tickets from https://t.co/zOmuZRgsAe pic.twitter.com/oM3KZvDEx7
