We are now into our 7th week of restrictions to stay at home and keep our distance from people outside our home. We’ve had to find new creative ways of keeping in touch and staying occupied, and Killaloe resident Ciara McCullough joined Mairead on the show today to chat about using her talents as a photographer for a lovely project.
Ciara is a wedding photographer and since weddings are on hold for the moment, she came up with a lovely idea to do something creative. Ciara decided she would photograph her neighbours within a 2km radius of her, so she put the call out on facebook to anyone who was interested.
She was expecting about 20-30 responses, but was inundated with replies and she's been spending her days getting to know her neighbours and creating beautiful portraits of them!
Today marked over 100 families photographed today in Killaloe/Ballina as part of my Portraits at The Door Photo Series. When I started I only expected a few people to be part of it. It seems I’ve only just gotten started. #portraitatthedoor #lockdown2020 #lockdownportraits pic.twitter.com/B7L7IxnPXo
