100k in 30 days kicks off this June Bank Holiday weekend and organiser Niall Carroll is challenging people around the country, and the world to get involved!
Niall has been involved in organising 100K in 30 Days for the past few year and this year he will be running for the month of June to raise funds for Breast Cancer Ireland following his wife Cara's diagnosis in 2019 and Niall is encouraging others to get involved with the challenge too.
You can crawl, walk or run 100km in 30 days and you can compete virtually against your friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, clubs around the country and worldwide.
You register at 100KIN30DAYS.ie and log your distances each time you head out for your walk or run and you can set challenges between teams/groups too.
Niall's wife Cara convinced him to do it this year for Breast Cancer Ireland as she is going through treatment for Breast Cancer herself.
Cara was diagnosed in December 2019 and since then she has been through surgery, chemo and is now nearly finished radiation treatment
Cara says running has been her mental health saviour during treatment.
She’s a secondary school teacher and Cara and Niall have two young kids ages four and two.
She wants to help fund research into why breast cancer is becoming so prevalent in 15-45 yr olds.

- It’s a social distanced fun challenge and you might get fit along the way
- ALL AGES – age is but a number – senior citizens are encouraged to take part
- The 30 days start on 1st JUNE – Bank Holiday Monday
