Earlier in the week, Mairead was talking about proud parents who go to extremes and keep every little detail and success from your life and James in Mayo got in touch and he sort of had the opposite problem.
When James was 21 and planning a trip away, he needed his long form birth cert for a passport. But when he went to request it, he couldn't be found anywhere! Eventually his birth cert was found, and the reason it took so long is because his birthday was actually a full five days later than what he thought.
That means that when James went out for his first alcoholic drink on his 18th birthday, he was still only 17 and he accidentally broke the pioneer pledge he took at his confirmation.
James had a lot of trouble going about updating his date of birth with all the necessary institutions because they didn't believe him, and he said "Xtra Vision might have gone out of business without ever knowing the truth".
