You may remember back in July Mairead spoke to Waterford woman Annie Birney after she and her partner Eoin Boyle landed on the Great Blasket Island for the summer. Their time on the island has come to an end, and Eoin filled Mairead in on what the experience was like.
The couple spent three months on the island working as caretakers, and had no electricity, TV or hot water, but absolutely loved being there.
Going from living in Dublin where they didn't have much of a view, to waking up every morning to see the entire Blasket Sound is something they won't forget in a hurry.

Being back on the mainland has been a bit of a shock to the system, and strangely enough it's been difficult to adjust to having hot showers again - Eoin said he's only worked up to lukewarm so far!
