Back in March, a lot of us realised that we don't actually know our neighbours. One woman who wanted to change that is Kate Gray and she joined Mairead on the line to tell her how she went about it.
After 11 years living in her cul de sac in Killiney, Kate didn't know any of her neighbours beyond giving them the odd wave. When she saw the videos of Italians coming out to their balconies during lockdown to sing and play music together she was inspired.
Kate hand-wrote notes for each of her 14 neighbours inviting them to come to their door at 7pm with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, and get to know each other. And 33 weeks later they are still sitting out together every evening!
She said it looks like they'll keep it up even after restrictions are lifted, it's become a part of everyone's day and they've made such good friendships through it too.
