Any pet owner will tell you that if you're woken in the middle of the night by your furry friend, it's usually going to be a problem. Someone who knows all about that is Tim Horgan from Cork who told Pamela about his real life game of cat and mouse.
Earlier this week at about 4am, Tim's cat returned home with a gift in its mouth - a mouse, which he dropped on the bed. However, the mouse was still alive and immediately ran in the small gap under the bed to hide.
Tim had to lift up the bed and turn his room upside down to catch the mouse, but at this point TJ the cat had lost all interest in the pursuit.
In the 2 hours that followed, Tim tried to get TJ involved in finding the mouse but TJ turned on him, scratching and biting, and the mouse escaped out of the room and was now loose somewhere in the house!
Thankfully there is a happy ending and after hearing scratches the next day, Tim was able to catch the mouse humanely and release him back into the wild.
