A Community Garda Talks About The Unexpected Friendship He Made During Lockdown

With everything that's going on in the news at the moment, it's easy to forget the community spirit that we all celebrated a few months ago is still going strong.

One example of that is the work that the Community Gardai are doing around the country, including Garda Christopher Fallon who joined Mairead on the phone.

When lockdown kicked in, the Community Gardai really came into their own looking after the elderly in the area and this is where Christopher met Annie who recently celebrated her 99th birthday!

Annie is well known in her community and says her secret to long life is having no regrets, and also her diet! She cut out meat a few years ago and gets lovely fresh veg from a priest who lives locally and has his own vegetable garden.
