It's been over a year since our world was turned on its head, and everyone has been affected by the pandemic in one way or another. One woman who has always been so open about her mental health struggles is author and podcaster Caroline Foran, and she joined Mairead on the show.
Caroline had her first baby during the pandemic, her son Caelan is nearly 9 months old now. She shared her experiences of post partum anxiety with Mairead, and how frightening it was to go through while navigating being a mother for the first time.

Caroline also spoke about something Irish people tend to do a lot without realising - toxic positivity. It's well meaning, but often counterproductive and there's a lot to be said for listening to someone's problems and simply nodding rather than trying to find a solution.
Caroline is an ambassador for this year's Darkness Into Light which takes place this Saturday 8th May. Pieta is aiming to unite over 200,000 people virtually to shine a light on the importance of mental health services. You can get involved at darknessintolight.ie.
