What happens if you’re a young chef in your twenties, a global pandemic hits and the 2 Michelin star restaurant that you work in closes and life comes to a standstill? You keep cooking! Mark Moriarty is the sous-chef at The Greenhouse Restaurant in Dublin, and he joined Mairead on the show today.
On the 14th of March, Mark got the call that The Greenhouse would be closing temporarily. After taking a week off, Mark and head chef at the Greenhouse, Mickael Viljanen, decided it was time to get creative and adapt for the situation they found themselves in. The first thing they did was to start cooking meals for frontline staff and nursing homes in Kildare.
And now it's time to help you! Mark has made an 8-part series for RTÉ called 'Cook-In' which shows you what meals you can at home using whatever basic food staples you already have, and make meals like paella, spaghetti bolognese - and Mairead's favourite - chicken goujons with garlic and cheese chips!
