Today Mairead was joined by an All Ireland winner with Cork camogie, finalist on Dancing With the Stars, champion coach on Ireland's Fittest Family and also Today FM's newest presenter - Anna Geary! Anna stopped by for a chat ahead of the start of her new show Pumped Up Kicks that she'll be hosting on Saturdays here on Today FM. She's definitely feeling nervous, but those nerves are calmed by the knowledge that she'll have "the very capable and confident and efficient Dec Pierce" as her co-host!
Mairead and Anna also chatted about Anna's competitive streak, which definitely comes out during the filming of Ireland's Fittest Family! Mairead shared a hilarious story that Anna's husband told on their wedding day that really highlights how unapologetically competitive she can be. The couple had just moved in together and were making tea when Kevin threw a teabag across the kitchen and managed to land it in a mug - this was taken as a challenge by Anna and a competition ensued! The competitive streak has served Anna well over the years, her ambition has paid off as her many achievements have shown.
