On Monday's show, Mairead mentioned it was National Kick Butt Day and she got this message from a listener:
"Hi Mairead, I really wish I could kick the butt out of finding a job in Mayo so that I can relocate from Kildare to be closer to my partner. As someone who is extremely capable, experienced, hard working and fast learning, I am getting really frustrated that I can't even get interviews because I can't tick the leaving certificate and degree box on applications."
This can be a common stumbling block people come across when job hunting, so Mairead spoke to career coach Susan Keating from Clearview Coaching Group about how to get past it.
Susan spoke about these types of screening questions and why employers include them, and also the importance of networking when looking for a job.
