Anyone who has ever walked along Streedagh Beach in Sligo would be familiar with the 'Butter Boat', the skeletal remains of a shipwreck that have puzzled residents and visitors for years.
While it was initially assumed that it was part of the Spanish Armada wrecks which populate the area, a massive analysis by the National Monuments Service has uncovered the tragic story of the boat, known as 'The Greyhound'.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Karl Brady from the Underwater Archaeology Unit at the National Monuments Service, explained how they solved a 250 year mystery.
