Tropical Storm Lorenzo took a right turn and is bearing down on Ireland, but thankfully has weakened slightly since yesterday. Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather joined Dermot and Dave for an update on how Lorenzo will affect us, and how we can best prepare.
The impact will vary from area to area with gusts of wind reaching highs of 100 and 120km/h, but the west seeing the worst of it - Mayo, Galway, Clare, Limerick and Kerry are the only counties a Status Orange wind warning has been issued for. The rest of the country is under Status Yellow wind or rain warnings.
Alan predicts a fair few photos of wheelie bins that have fallen over with the caption "we will rebuild" in the east of the country, but also warns us not to be complacent. The winds will be very powerful and anything loose should be tied down, and we will see heavy rain and spot flooding too.
The storm is expected to have passed by Friday morning, but it's looking like the weather will continue to be fairly miserable for the foreseeable.
