No matter how positive a person is, we all suffer from a lack of confidence at some point(s) in our lives - it's natural. But what if this becomes and overwhelming emotional state? How do we correct it?
One lady who experienced a serious lack of self-esteem is life coach Tracy Geraghty.
Years ago, Tracy hit a rough patch when a chain of events turned her life upside down; her mum died, her son was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and her marriage fell apart, all in a short space of time.
And although Tracy knew she had an intolerance for the substance, she used alcohol as a coping mechanism.
Ms Geraghty tells Dermot and Dave her inspirational story and how reading Rhonda Byrne's best-selling self-help book 'The Secret' transformed her life.
Tracy says, "I realised that at the core I didn't value myself enough...so I started to invest in my personal development".
When we place a low value on ourselves it's very hard to ask for anything more because (you think) this is a good as it gets for me
She continues to explain how we need to stop placing "far too much of our deepest, inner worth on things that are outside of us".
