You may not know this but March is Endometriosis Awareness Month.
'What is Endometriosis and what has it got to do with my skin?', I hear you ask. It's a condition where the tissue that makes up the uterine lining (lining of the womb) is present in other organs inside the body, most commonly migrating to the ovaries and Fallopian tubes.
Its symptoms include abdominal pain, period paid and pain during intercourse, but it may also cause skin inflammation due to the hormonal imbalance. Your skin is an organ too you see.
Jennifer Rock (aka. the Skin Nerd) examines the hormonal relationship with skincare and offers her expert advice on how to prevent/combat the effects of autoimmune disorders.
