"Next year it will be 30 years since I got signed up"
Just let that sentence sink in for a second....
Back in 1996 Peter Andre took the music world by storm with his hypnotic track Mysterious Girl and the ab-licious, water-splashing video that accompanied it. That's 23 years ago lads!
Now, at a ridiculously youthful-looking 46 years of age the performer is just as hungry and hard-working as ever, as he told Today FM's Dermot and Dave.
Andre was in Dublin to put the finishing touches to his latest role as 'Teen Angel' in Grease The Musical at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, a character he describes as, "the perfect role for me to wet my appetite in theatre because I want to do an acting part".
Here he is, electrifying as ever:
When asked for his thoughts on modern day pop music, the singer says he's a huge fan of anything with an "dancehall afrobeat with reggae vibes" and hints at releasing something "fresh and current" in 2020 to mark the 30 years.
In 1990 I was in Australia and got signed up on national TV
He also chats about being nominated for an award when he starred in a short film called The Inheritance and admits that he would move to Dublin if it wasn't for his wife Emily.
Grease The Musical takes to the stage of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from September 17th-28th, with Peter playing Teen Angel from the 24th-28th. If you'd like to see him in action, check out tickets by clicking here.
