More Brexit bother
Daylight Savings Time always causes mass confusion here in Ireland. Even if you repeat "Spring forward, Fall back" out loud a hundred times, you'll still be left with an air of doubt.
Well fear not good people of the EU because the European Parliament's Traffic Commission has voted 23 to 11 scrap DST in the Union come 2021.
The next stage is to get clearance from the Council of Member States. If passed, it will be up to each of the member states to decide whether they want opt in or not. And sure who wouldn't want a full year of 'Summer Time'? The living would be easy.
One of the key driving forces behind the movement is Fine Gael MEP for Ireland South, Seán Kelly, who has been campaigning to change the archaic rule for the past seven years.
Speaking on Today FM's Dermot and Dave, Mr Kelly explains why this is the way forward (not back).
Seán also reveals how in theory, if Brexit goes through, there could be an hour difference between the north and south of Ireland. Imagine that?
