'fishook' knows what's happening!
Like all the great cities out there, Dublin is a hive of activity with hundreds of gigs and events happening weekly. The thing is with so much on it's hard to keep track of it all.
We're always looking for fun stuff to do around the capital and now, thanks to a resourceful Tipperary man, our quest has been made so much easier.
Paddy O'Rourke has created fishook, the "tinder for events" as he calls it, an app that was inspired by a Dry November in 2017.
Chatting on Dermot and Dave, Paddy explains how he and his friends took a break from the beer ahead of a heavy Christmas party season and needed another outlet, "we wanted to distract ourselves with stuff to do around Dublin".
It's used by those who love going to gigs, exhibitions, talks, meetups, classes… you name it. It is an exclusive platform for you to shout about your events to an interested crowd.
The qualified physio started do some research and found all kinds of cool stuff happening - smaller gigs and festivals that weren't well advertised. This was his "Eureka" moment and things snowballed from there.
He chats to the lads about what sets fishook apart from other 'What's On?' platforms,
anybody that runs events or activities or festivals they can create their own account like any social media and pop up their own events
Although it's still early stages, there's so much potential for this app and we can definitely see it going nationwide in the not-so-distant future.
It's available on Android and iOS and if you're looking for your business/event to get some coverage, hit him up here.
