It's probably one of the biggest jobs in the country in the history of the State. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan has been advising the Government, and the nation, on our response to the Covid-19 pandemic since the news of a 'mystery virus' broke at the start of the year and headed the team which recommended our recent return to level 5 restrictions.
It's been a difficult few months for the country, and in particular, the return to level 5 has been heartbreaking for thousands of people who find themselves out of work or isolated from loved ones.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Ireland's Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan explained why Ireland is under one of the strictest lockdowns in Europe, what we can all do to change the course of the virus and whether or not he can forsee us having a 'normal' Christmas.
On a personal level, the CMO also revealed how he's most looking forward to watching a GAA match with a pint and spending time with his family whenever things might return to normal.
