It's a musical match made in heaven! They're one of Ireland's biggest bands, he's one of the most famous singers in the country but things could have nearly been very different for Kodaline and Gavin James.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave about his new book 'High Hopes', Kodaline lead singer Steve Garrigan revealed that he was eyeing up Gavin James to join the band as they recorded their first album. In fact, he was 'hopping on the Swords Express' into town when he got the call to say Gavin wouldn't be able to meet, and the rest, as they say is history.
Steve also spoke frankly about his life with severe anxiety, how music has been a support to him, and what's next for Kodaline.
You can catch the chat by clicking play above, and Steve will be in conversation with Fergal D'Arcy on Thursday October 14th, as part of the Dublin Book Festival. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
