Yesterday, ITV viewers were left bewildered after the theme tunes to all the network's shows were swapped out for piano versions of the same melodies.

But Why? What's the catch?

One of these said viewers was none other than Dermot and Dave producer Maria Devereux.

'Maz' (it's what the cool people call her) was tuned in yesterday evening, and noticed this strange phenomenon whilst enjoying multiple cuppas on the couch.

Maz told us how, "the continuity announcer on ITV was saying, 'wondering why all these are different? Find out tomorrow night at quarter past nine'". What's so special about 9:15pm tonight?

Well as all this was happening, the news of the much-anticipated John Lewis Christmas advert was released online. An ad called The Boy and the Piano, featuring Sir Elton John and his 70's hit, 'Your Song'.

It has been getting a very mixed review all morning - see what you think:

So Dermot and Dave, along with Maria, discuss this ingenious marketing approach by John Lewis, and marvel at the power the department store must have to be able to alter the theme tunes of the likes of Emmerdale and Corrie. Some may even consider it sacrilege.

The advert will make its TV debut on ITV1 at 9:15pm this evening during Dark Heart
