Deep breaths Dermo!
For the past couple of months, Dermot Whelan has been crying out to play in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Pro Am competition on July 3rd, and today, he got his chance.
Lahinch will host the tournament for the first time in its 91-year history and the Dermot and Dave co-host was finally given a lifeline via Ireland and Munster scrum-half Conor Murray.
Dave teamed up with Conor and the people behind the event to surprise Dermot with a putting challenge. 3 balls, 3 putts but 1 of them MUST go in the hole in order for him to win a place in the tournament.
It was all setup on the balcony of Today FM HQ, but could he do it? Could the Limerick man join the likes of Joe Canning, Davy Fitz, AP McCoy and Conor Murray on the velvety grass of the county Clare course?
