They're certainly distinctive and now, Irish people are being encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for the ring-necked parakeet.
Birdwatch Ireland have been informed of a number of sightings of the bird in Dublin's Griffith Park, and are now hoping to find out how many are in the wild.
The parakeet, while originally from parts of Africa and Asia, have spread around Europe and now can be found as close as the Netherlands and the UK.
However, as an invasive species, they could cause problems for native Irish birds as well as for farmers and other food growers.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Niall Hatch from Birdwatch Ireland explained where they could have come from, the problems they could cause and what to do if you spot one.
