Barack Obama achieved a huge amount during his eight year term as US President, but nothing compares to the construction of Obama Plaza in Offaly.
That's according to one Irish punter, who bumped into the former Commander in Chief at a gym in San Francisco overnight.
Peter Barron from Clare was working up as sweat at the St Regis hotel in the Californian city, when he spotted Obama in the corner. At first Peter didn't recognise Barack and even left the gym without acknowledging his existence.
It wasn't until Peter was in the reception of the hotel later that night and saw John Legend get out of a blacked out car, that he realised some A-listers may be staying at the hotel, including the man himself, Barack Obama.
Speaking on the Dermot and Dave Show this morning, Peter revealed the moment he met Obama for the second time on a cross trainer in the gym, where he thanked the former President for Obama Plaza.
Clearly not forgetting his Offaly roots, Obama told Peter to send his "love to the Irish" and the pair chatted for the remainder of their workouts.
Peter told the full story to Doireann and Dec this morning - listen to the podcast below
If Barack's people are reading this, he is welcome to visit Obama Plaza anytime!
