When Barry and Brenda Sorensen started to experience coronavirus symptoms they knew what they needed to do.
Both Barry and Brenda self isolated immediately, along with their four children, but as time passed the Irish couple's symptoms became worse, resulting in Barry being taken to hospital by ambulance.
Brenda also ended up being admitted to hospital and that's where the couple have spend the last nine days, alone in quarantined hospital rooms, but only 30 meters apart.
Barry joined Dermot & Dave from his hospital bed where he walked us through what it's like to be separated from his family.
Barry and Brenda are both recovering well and Barry is full of praise for the staff of University Hospital Waterford's Pine Ward who he says are 'unbelievable.'
Barry says they both miss their kids terribly but are so proud of them for keeping it together like 'real heroes.'
