Formula One is massively popular all around the world, with fans on every continent attending live events and watching on the telly. But now, in Ireland, it's being used to encourage students to get into STEM subjects.
F1 in schools sees students in junior and senior cycle of secondary school take part in a national competition where they have to construct, finance and race F1 cars. It is the largest and most successful school based STEM program in the world and the results speak for themselves.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Lucy Daly who took part in the F1 in schools programme explained how it's encouraged her to pursue a career in engineering.
