It's that time of the year when millions of people around the world give up things like chocolate, sweets and smoking for Lent.

But for TodayFM listener Laura in Leitrim, the most surprising thing this year is that Lent is actually longer than you'd think. We all know that it's 40 days and 40 nights but Laura has discovered that it's actually 46 days, and Sunday's do not count.

Laura also revealed that her Lenten sacrifice of giving up chocolate is still ongoing, eight years later!

To clear things up, we were joined by Ireland's soundest Priest, Fr Chris O'Donnell who also told Dermot and Dave how they're doing things differently this Ash Wednesday.
