Since wearing a mask became mandatory in Ireland, there has been a huge debate as to how they should be worn.
One doctor is taking the charge in the trying to educate the population on the right way of using a face covering.
Dr. Maitiu O’Tuathail raised a number of points with Dermot this morning about how people need to be aware of how they use their mask. He thinks that just like we are taught to use condoms in school, we should receive instructions on how to apply a face covering.
Dr. O'Tuathail went on to explain "if you use a condom perfectly, it’s 98% effective, but if you use it imperfectly, it can be as little as 80% effective, that’s failing 1 in uses. Masks are the same. If they don’t fit, or fall off, or get damp, theyre efficacy reduces significantly”
Dr. Maitiu O’Tuathail - General Practitioner, Past HSE Lead NCHD in GP and known as Dr. Zero Craic on Twitter joined Dermot this morning to discuss the right way to wear a face covering.
