The 7-year plan broken down
After years of people in "the sticks" being deprived of adequate internet speeds, the government have finally announced a €3 billion nationwide fibre broadband service that is to be rolled-out before 2020.
But what does this ambitious plan entail? And who is going to benefit from it exactly?
I was going to do my research and bring you all the answers, but I was back home in Mayo the past few days and we're currently on 0.006Mbps, so I will let Adrian Weckler, Technology Editor with the Irish Independent, break it down for you in layman's terms.
