As uncomfortable as it is for us to accept, death is very much part of our life.
Recently, actress Riley Keough announced that she had completed training as a 'end-of-life doula', something she was inspired to do after the tragic death of her own brother at the age of just 27.
An end-of-life doula's role is to guide the dying person and/or their loved ones through the final time in their life. They will provide things like emotional assistance, spiritual support and can also offer advice on things like the aftercare of the deceased and funeral planning.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Jade Egan, a fully trained end-of-life doula explained the process, her motivation for training in the field and how we can all learn to do death better.
