This is BIG!
Most of us are familiar with the massively successful BBC series DIY SOS: The Big Build, and now, for the first time, the famous home improvement show is coming to Ireland.
This is the first time it has ever been produced outside of the UK and producers are looking for "deserving families across the country struggling to cope with a devastating illness or life changing event, who desperately need help to rebuild their homes & hopefully transform their lives in the process".
The feel-good show is being produced by Motive Television for RTÉ (One) and will be fronted by the man who knows a thing or two about helping people out - the ultimate wingman himself, Baz Ashmawy.
Baz and his DIY SOS team of experts will help 4 families from across the country transform their homes, changing their lives forever.
The thing is, they will only have 9 days to complete each project and rely on tradesmen and neighbours doing work for free. So they are going to need all the humanpower they can get. That's where you come in.
Series Producer, Sharon Newman chats to Baz (who's covering on Dermot and Dave) about the criteria potential families need to meet and explains how "this does not work unless the community get behind it".
This is like a tsunami of goodwill

Sharon also reveals the first family they have chosen, the Barrys, who's young father sadly passed away earlier this year. It's heartbreaking and hammers home just how important these projects are.
