Pablo Escobar was the world's first narcoterrorist.
He began dealing cocaine in 1975 and at the time of his death his net worth was estimated to be somewhere in the region of $30 billion (that's worth about $56 billion in today’s money.)
During this time Columbia became the ‘murder capital’ of the world with over 600 police officers killed by hitmen.
In 1991, the murder rate in Medellín was 380 per 100,000 people, it has dropped as low as 19 in the past years.
Despite his vast wealth and fierce loyalty from those who worked for him Pablo Escobar was shot and killed during a police operation in 1993 aged 44.
US DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Peña played a vital role in helping to bring down one of the world's most dangerous drug dealers.

Speaking to Dermot & Dave Javier Peña revealed what it was like to finally hear that Pablo Escobar was dead, 'To me it was just a feeling of elation, you know this guy killed a lot of people, killed some good friends of mine, so vengeance had been done.'
Steve Murphy arrived on the scene shortly after Escobar was shot and was pictured standing over the body of Columbia's most wanted man.

So are there plans to consult on any more shows?
Steve Murphy has confirmed to Dermot & Dave that there are plans in place, 'We can't really talk about it, we're actually negotiating a potential TV series now that would address some of the drug issues in the United States.'
The pair are also working on a book and they will be heading to venues around Ireland speaking about capturing Pablo and the Cali Cartel.
