Jonny Buckland: "we're probably not going to do much touring next year, if any"
Coldplay have been quite the tease over the past few weeks with their cryptic images and typewritten messages to fans.
This was all of course some excellent marketing ahead of the release of their 8th studio album, Everyday Life, which is out this Friday (November 22nd).

The double-sided masterpiece is split into 'sunrise' and 'sunset', with 8 tracks on each side. These themes are at the core of an ambitious plan they have for the middle east:

Dermot and Dave caught up with Coldplay's Jonny Buckland ahead of the launch to learn more about the album and the band's future plans.
When asked why they decided to make the album double-sided, Jonny says, "it felt like we needed more of the songs we'd done. We tried to cut it down to 11 or 12 songs but it was just too hard". He feels this is a much more "digestible format" and reveals the songs to be much more intimate, brimming with new ideas.
As well as pretty much ruling out any tour dates for 2020, he did admit that they hope to have ANOTHER album in the can by the end of next year. No hanging about with these lads!
*And don't forget to tune into Dermot and Dave on Today FM all this week because we're giving two lucky listeners the chance to be flown to London for this exclusive gig:
