There are fresh calls for the government to enforce strict rules on international travel into Ireland.
It comes after a number of businesses in the West of Ireland reporter large numbers of American tourists this weekend, with many saying they hadn't completed the 14 days mandatory isolation upon arrive in Ireland.
One tweet by a woman called Janet from E-Whizz in Co. Clare attracted huge attention, gaining over fourteen thousand likes. Janet cancelled a booking of 14 American tourists after they didn't view the isolation as 'mandatory'.
Had to cancel guests booked on guided tour today who just arrived from the US and didn’t think 14 days self isolation was ‘mandatory’. I know we are in tourism but I’m just not willing to risk it for staff and other guests. These people are in the country and socialising
