Experts reveal the year ahead to be full of "glamboozling", "caspering" and more
The dating game is a minefield - there's no doubt about it, but it does throw up some wonderful phrases every now and again.
Most of us are familiar with terms like "breadcrumbing", "ghosting" and "catfishing", but relationship experts over at popular dating site Plenty Of Fish have introduced some new ones to keep us on our love-seeking toes in 2020.
Dermot and Dave producer Maria Devereux guides us through these gems:
Glamboozling - This is where you get your glad rags on and are looking hot as f**k, only to be stood up. Glam + bamboozled.
Caspering - The act of "ghosting" is where someone ends a personal relationship with someone by suddenly and unexplainedly withdrawing from all communication. But what if the person breaks it to you nicely before they vanish? Well then they're a friendly ghoster - like Casper.
Flashpanning - We all know the honeymoon period is the holy grail of any relationship, but when the magic starts to fade, a flashpanner will drop you like a hot snot. A fair-weather lover if you will.
Exoskeleton-ing - If a friend of your ex or one of your friend's exes gets in touch with you, then you've be exoskeletoned!
Yellow-carding - This is where a partner hasn't done enough to get their marching orders, yet they're in the bad books. A little reminder for them to shape up or else risk getting a red.
All this in the middle of cuffing season?? Dating is a cruel, cruel beast.
