Champion of the World
It's hard to believe a decade has passed since boxer Bernard Dunne beat Ricardo Cordoba to win the WBA World Super-Bantamweight title in Dublin. A night that rocked what was then the O2 Arena.
The Dubliner's been a busy man since then with two TV shows (his first one winning an IFTA), becoming part of the Dublin GAA coaching staff, training boxers in the Abbotstown High Performance Centre, learning the Irish language and now, his second book Bernard Dunne Champion of the World, which he has written himself.
Speaking on Today FM's Dermot and Dave, the 39-year-old tells us about how this book documents his boxing career and why he owes so much to the discipline, "this was a pet project that I wanted to get done".
the big message from this is never be afraid to try something...you just don't know where it could end up
