"Logic would say United have no chance"
All footballing eyes (except Juve & Ajax fans) will be on the Camp Nou this evening as Barcelona take on Manchester United in the second leg of the Champions League quarter final @8pm.
Holding a slender 1-0 advantage from last week's meeting in Old Trafford, Ernesto Valverde's men haven't much breathing space, but the stats are still very much in their favour.
Dermot and Dave chat to Today FM Sports and OffTheBall.com's football oracle Philip Egan, who is more than aware of the mountain Solskjaer's men have to climb, "Logic would say United have no chance".
But as we all know, United laugh at logic when it comes to European football's main stage.
Super fan Dave uses their comeback against PSG as a reference, but is quickly shot down by Phil saying,
Barca are not PSG. They're not bottlers
As in all good debates, you need a balanced discussion - that's where Dermot comes in, dropping the hammer with these two stats:
- Barcelona have never lost a home match against Manchester United in European competition. Ever.
- Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 30 Champions League home games.
Yeah....it doesn't bode well for the Red Devils alright. Olé might be at the wheel but he could be headed for a dead end! Let's just hope the airbags are working.
