And more facts from the wonder of Dave's World
Way back in 1777, a man by the name of Frederick the Great of Prussia issued a manifesto claiming beer’s superiority over coffee.
His argument was that coffee got in the way of the country’s beer consumption, apparently hoping a royal statement would make Prussians eager for a pint of beer in the morning instead.
Frederick’s statement proclaimed, “His Majesty was brought up on beer,” explaining why he thought breakfast drinking was a good idea.
I don't see anything like that being proposed nowadays. Pity.
