Younger people may be given the AstraZeneca vaccine, according to the Tanaiste.
Leo Varadkar says this may be considered as hundreds of thousands of the AZ jabs may be left spare.
Right now, the vaccine is only being given to people over the age of 50.
This is due to concerns about blood clots in younger groups.
The Tanaiste says this may change if the National Immunisation Advisory Committee allows it.
Leo Varadkar says the country may have hundreds of thousands of excess AZ vaccines.
He said "it would be a shame not to use them" and there is some engagement with NIAC as to whether the spare jabs could be given to younger people.
