WhatsApp users will soon be able to edit messages that have already been sent.
Changes will be able to be made within 15 minutes of hitting send - but the message will be labelled as 'edited'.
The company revealed details of the new feature in a blog post yesterday.
The new feature can be accessed by doing a 'long press' on a sent message and selecting “edit” from a pop-up menu.
WhatsApp says others will be aware of the correction without being able to see the 'edit history'.
Unlike a recent update on iPhones last September, where the history of amended iMessages could be viewed by the recipient.
WhatsApp, which is owned by tech giant Meta, says the update has already is starting to be rolled out to users globally and "will be available to everyone in the coming weeks".
